Dr. Chantelle Willard
Dr. Chantelle Willard is a specialist anaesthetist dedicated to safe, compassionate, and patient-focused care. After fifteen years of medical and specialist training in Sydney, she returned home to Port Macquarie to serve her local community. She practices at both the Base and Private Hospitals, delivering high quality anaesthesia for elective and emergency cases encompassing robotic, gynaecological, obstetric, orthopaedic, trauma, endoscopic, urological, general, vascular, and dental surgeries.
Dr. Willard earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and completed her five-year specialist training at Prince of Wales (POW) and Sydney Children’s Hospitals (SCH). This involved managing high pressure adult and paediatric emergency theatres alongside specialised tertiary rotations. These rotations included complex head, neck, and plastics at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse, trauma at St George Hospital, and ENT and neurosurgery at POW/SCH, cardiac and thoracic anaesthesia at Eastern Heart POW, and intensive care medicine.
Following her core training, Dr. Willard completed a Fellowship in Regional Anaesthesia at Port Macquarie Base Hospital, specialising in nerve blocks to target operative and pain management to optimise patient experience and recovery.
Dr. Willard tutors UNSW medical students in airway management, is training to become an Effective Management of Anaesthetic Crises (EMAC) instructor for fellow anaesthetists, and is completing a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound through the University of Melbourne in transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) and lung ultrasound.
Outside the theatre, she fully embraces the Port Macquarie coastal lifestyle with her husband, their two young children, and their golden retriever.
