Dr. Edward Ho

Dr. Edward Ho is a specialist anaesthetist based in Newcastle and Sydney. He began his healthcare career as a physiotherapist after graduating from University of Sydney. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Notre Dame and continued medical training and specialisation in anaesthesia in the Hunter New England region.

In his final years of training, he moved to Sydney and completed a General Clinical Anaesthesia Fellowship at St George Hospital and a subspecialty Fellowship in Obstetric Anaesthesia and Gynaecology at The Royal Hospital for Women. There he acquired unique anaesthetic experience in complex obstetrics, including in-utero foetal surgery.

Dr. Ho has a particular interest in obstetric anaesthesia, regional nerve block techniques, orthopaedics, and general surgery. He is passionate about medical education and volunteers as an examiner for the School of Medicine at the University of Notre Dame, Sydney.

He currently works as a Staff Specialist at John Hunter Hospital and is a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at several major public and private hospitals in Newcastle and Sydney.

Outside of work, Dr. Ho is an enthusiastic rock climber, snowboarder and loves spending time with his family, whether it’s relaxing in Newcastle or travelling abroad.
