Dr. Sian Myers

Dr. Sian Myers is a specialist anaesthetist who completed her postgraduate medical degree at The University of Sydney where she was awarded a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery. Prior to studying medicine, Dr. Myers completed a Bachelor of Science with first class honours in Chemistry, also at The University of Sydney.

Dr. Myers undertook her prevocational training at Liverpool Hospital in Sydney, and Royal Darwin Hospital in the Northern Territory, before moving to Newcastle to complete her anaesthetic training between John Hunter, Maitland, Tamworth and Lismore Hospitals. She completed a fellowship in pre-hospital and retrieval medicine with Hunter Retrieval and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, followed by a second fellowship in Neuroanaesthesia at Vancouver General Hospital in Canada.

Dr. Myers is now based in Newcastle, working as a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist at John Hunter and Belmont Hospitals, as well as privately throughout the region. She maintains broad interests in all areas of anaesthesia and assists anaesthetic registrars with preparation to sit the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists examinations.

Outside of work Dr. Myers enjoys skiing, hiking, and spending time at the beach.
