Dr. Vivian Ho
Dr. Vivian Ho is a specialist anaesthetist who completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of Newcastle, where she was awarded a Bachelor of Medicine and the Carl Mason Memorial Prize. She worked for two years across critical care specialties before commencing her anaesthetic training in the Hunter New England area, working in Newcastle, Gosford and Lismore, including six months as part of the Hunter Retrieval Service caring for critically ill patients.
After completing her training in Australia, Dr. Ho undertook a specialised fellowship in Regional Anaesthesia at Changi General Hospital in Singapore. During this time, she focused on advanced ultrasound guided regional techniques and gained additional experience in neurosurgery, vascular, ENT, robotic-assisted surgery, orthopaedic surgery and intensive care.
Dr. Ho works in both the public and private sector and is a Staff Specialist at John Hunter Hospital. She maintains her skills across a wide range of anaesthesia subspecialties. She is the current convenor of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists NSW Cadaveric Regional Anaesthesia Focused Teaching (CRAFT) workshop. Her educational roles also include facilitating regional anaesthesia workshops at the Australasian Symposium on Ultrasound and Regional Anaesthesia (ASURA) and other conferences, as well as organising local regional anaesthesia education at her institution.
Dr. Ho is a member of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists, a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and complies with all continuing professional development requirements.
